UPDATE: “DARING THE BLAZE 5k” to benefit the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department

The Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank organizer Noah Wood and the Dares Beach Civic Association for another successful 5k benefiting our volunteer organization.

The 3rd annual “Daring the Blaze” event, held on June 29, 2019, was chocked full of walkers and runners weaving through the Dares Beach community and along the Chesapeake Bay. The high heat and humidity didn’t stop the more than 50 participants from climbing hills, taking on turns and dodging a few sprinklers along the 3.1 mile course.

Noah Wood, event host and organizer, would like to recognize the top participants:

Congratulations to Ben Aris for winning in the men’s field with a new 13-19 age group record time of 18:03. Jeff Malone took second with a time of 20:31, and Rob Clinton rounded out the top 3 with a new 30-39 age group course record of 22:23!
