On August 19, 2019, just before 12:30 p.m. Squad 2 responded to the area of Route 4 and Broomes Island Road for the auto accident. Calvert Advanced Life Support’s Chief 10 was first on the scene and advised there was one vehicle off the roadway and one patient trapped.

Squad 2 was the first arriving squad and went to work freeing and removing the patient who was soon turned over to awaiting EMS and Maryland State Police Aviation for a medivac. Another patient self extricated and was transported to an area hospital.

This was Rescue Squad 2’s first auto extrication since being placed in service.
