On February 2, 2018 Firefighter Devin Ardekani competed in the regional Skills USA competition. The event was held at Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department and kicked off bright and early at 8 a.m.

Over a four-hour period Firefighter Ardekani participated in a two-minute drill, threw a 24-foot ladder, hoisted tools, completed a CPAT and interview along with taking a written exam.

Ardekani won in every single category for the practical portion. Those achievements, combined with the written exam, placed him in second.

On April 14, 2018, Ardekani will make the trek to Baltimore where he will compete in the Maryland state competition for Skills. Congratulations Firefighter Ardekani, we are proud of your accomplishments!
