How To Support McKenna Cox #PeanutStrong

To our community:

Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help support the Cox family during this incredibly difficult time. Jamie Cox, McKenna’s grandfather, is a lifetime member at our department and has given 43 years of dedicated service to our community (and continues to volunteer today).

We want to support Jamie, his wife Nancy, his son Jon and daughter-in-law Melissa, along with her parents Linda and Tim in any way we possibly can.

⏺ Here are a few ideas of how you can help:

➡️ GIFT CARD DONATION: Our fire station is accepting gift cards to donate to the family. These cards can go toward gas, hotel, grabbing something on the go as they make their way to and from the hospital. Anyone from the community is able to donate, the secure box is located in our watch office. Stop by the station anytime (450 Solomons Island Road N). The collection will go to the Cox’s on Monday, September 20, 2022.

➡️ YARD CARDS: Calvert Yard Cards is hoping to fill Calvert with yellow peanut cards, letting McKenna know she has the love and support from her community. There’s free delivery to Calvert and you can pre-order them here: www.CalvertYardCards.com – They are starting delivery in McKenna’s neighborhood first and will branch out from there. You can also pick up your sign at: 1921 Skinners Turn this Friday from 9:30-12:30 p.m.

➡️ SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2022: K&K Adventure Park (right across from PFVFD and next to Brick Wood Fired Bistro) is donating 25% of all of their sales to the Cox family from 12 – 6 p.m. There are rides, games, batting cages and golf and much more.

➡️ SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2022: Mrs. Moo’s Corner is hosting a fundraiser this Sunday from 12 – 8 p.m. They are mixing up one of McKenna’s favorite extreme milkshakes! A portion of all of the sales will go to the family to help in the recovery during this time.

We thank you for your kindness and generosity.
