Engine Crew Stretches Hose Through Backyard, Over Fence To Assist With Lusby Fire

On April 9, 2018, the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to a working house fire in Lusby, Md. Around 1:30 p.m. Engine 22 and Tower 2 were dispatched to Chesapeake Ranch Estates, specifically to the 800 block of Golden West Way (Box 310) for fire showing from a home.

According to initial information, a caller was on the scene and told dispatch there were flames showing from the front porch. Units arrived to the one-story single family home and verified heavy fire and smoke conditions.

According to PFVFD Capt. Robbie Helms, Engine 22 was third on the scene and stretched hose through the backyard, over a fence to reach the structure. Tower 2 assisted with ladders and overhaul.

Chief 2-A operate as the south duty chief and our crews were on the scene for two hours.
