On April 28, 2022, at 4:20 a.m. Engine 22 and Tower 2 were dispatched to the 4600 block of Valley Court in St. Mary’s County for the working fire.

Although the tower was placed in service, the engine arrived at the apartment building and helped to locate fire throughout the top floor of the structure.

Engine 22 (Mike Braswell) established his own water supply while the crew stretched the larger line (400) from the fire truck, to an adjacent street. The hose line had to be brought through the woods to reach the side of the apartment. The engine crew from PFVFD took the hose line up a ladder and up to the top floor, where they assisted with the extinguishment.

The cause is under investigation.
