In the early morning hours of July 11, 2019, Company 2 (PFVFD) along with surrounding departments, were dispatched for a reported marina fire at Vera White Sands Beach Club.

First due units, including Engine 21 (PFVFD) and Company 7 (SLVFD), arrived in the 1200 block of White Sands Drive to find a 25′ cabin cruiser boat engulfed in flames. The boat was positioned away from the pier.

A bystander fishing in the area had pushed the boat away into the creek. Engine 21 (PFVFD) arrived to assist with extinguishment. Hand lines were pulled off the e engine and firefighters applied foam.

Safety 7 had the command. Engine 21 (PFVFD) operated on scene for just over three hours. DNR is currently investigating.
