On Saturday, August 14, 2021, Company 2 was called to respond to multiple calls in the Prince Frederick area, and beyond, because of a storm.
One of the calls for service brought volunteers directly to a residence in Huntingtown, Md. Crews were called to the 2000 block of Biglane Court for a house struck by lightening.
Upon arrival, firefighters battled heavy smoke conditions with fire coming from the roof of the single-family home.
Injuries were not reported and units from neighboring counties were brought in to assist with the call.
According to a local report, the Red Cross was also brought in to assist the family.
