Dog Saved From Working Fire In Long Beach

On January 27, 2019, shortly after 10 p.m., Engine 21, Truck 2 and Tanker 2 (with a total of 12, including Chief 2-C Ben Ridgely) responded to a house fire in the 1400 block of Holy Circle.

First arriving units to the Long Beach home arrived with a 2-story single family house with smoke showing from the garage. Engine 21 stretched a hose line to the second floor and checked for extension. While Truck 2 assisted with overhaul.

One of our volunteers found the family dog on the living room floor and rescued the animal. The dog made it out alive and was given oxygen in the driveway.

Units operated on the fireground for several hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
