Dangerous Winds Kick Call Volume Into High Gear

When the high winds kick in, the call volume can explode. This is exactly what is happening on March 2 at Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire department. According to reports, wind gusts reached 70 mph in some areas throughout the day and into the evening. Schools shut down, the Federal Government closed and officials continue to urge the public to stay inside.

Although the weather is challenging, PFVFD members are staffing the station with multiple crews. The calls rang out early (around 4:30 a.m.) starting with trees down, a tree on a home and reported brush fires. Throughout the day, volunteers responded to more than 25+ calls for area boxes, accidents and calls for service. We thank all our members for coming out and staffing the station.
