Crews Respond To Working Basement Fire In Dares Beach

On the morning of November 4, 2019, crews were dispatched to the Unit Block of S. Chesapeake Avenue in Dares Beach for a possible basement fire. As firefighters entered the home they discovered the house was full of smoke, but there was no visible fire. A further investigation revealed a fire in the basement and crews made an attack from the exterior basement access.

Volunteers also worked to perform searches, overhaul and checked for extension into other areas of the home.

Engine 21, Tower 2, Squad 2 and Tanker 2 and surrounding stations are operated on the fireground for more than two hours. The cause is under investigation and there were no injuries.
