Tommy was a pioneer in the fire service for all of Calvert County. In fact, Tommy was not only the first Fire Chief of Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department, but he was a founding and life member of station 6 as well.
Both were cadets in recruit class 54 and are now probationary firefighters.
Kaden specialized in the welding program at Calvert Career Technology Academy (CTA), and Nick focused his efforts on the Firefighter / EMT program.
Congratulations to Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department’s (PFVFD) Nicholas “Nick” Boswell for placing first in the state of Maryland for the annual SkillsUSA competition held in Anne Arundel County. Nick moves forward to a national stage and is set to compete against other students across the country in Georgia in June.
The event was held at Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department. Within a 24 hour period all participants completed a number of drills.
McKenna Cox, granddaughter of Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department’s Life member, Jamie Cox, was finally able to make her way home for the very first time since her accident in Prince Frederick, Md.
Jimmy Billings has served on MD-1 for 12 years and has deployed in response to major storms such as Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Harvey. He has also assisted with several high-profile events in our nation’s capital.
Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help support the Cox family during this incredibly difficult time. Jamie Cox, McKenna’s grandfather, is a lifetime member at our department and has given 43 years of dedicated service to our community.
On Sunday, June 19, 2022, during the annual Maryland State Firemen’s Convention in Ocean City, Caitlyn Arhar gave her farewell speech as Miss Fire Prevention First Runner Up for 2020-2022.
