On January 22, 2023, just after 2 p.m., Company 2 was dispatched to the 6300 block of Broomes Island Road in St. Leonard, Md. for a working fire.

Engine 21, Engine 22, Squad 2, Tanker 2, Chief 2 (Gray) and Chief 2-C (Odgen) responded.
Chief 7-B (Schooley – St. Leonard) arrived to find a one-story home with heavy fire throughout the basement and first floor.

Engine 21 arrived on the scene and advanced two lines – one directly to the basement – and one to the first floor to extinguish the bulk of the fire.

Company 2 assisted Company 7 (St. Leonard) with extinguishment and overhaul. Chief 7 (Lankford) held command for the incident.

No injuries were reported. The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating
