Multiple Crews From PFVFD Respond To Working House Fire in Huntingtown

On September 24, 2019, just before 5:30 a.m. Engine 21, Tower 2 and Tanker 2 responded to the working house fire in the 2700 block of Queensberry Drive. Engine 21’s crew was the first unit arrive and they found heavy fire originating from the back of the 2-story single-family home with extension to the second floor and attic area.

The engine crew pulled into the adjacent driveway to the address and immediately pulled a line to the front door, made entry and went to the rear of the home to knock down the flames. The crew from Huntingtown arrived and pulled a line to the attic area. Shortly after there was a water supply issue and due to conditions worsening, evacuation tones were sounded to have all firefighters removed from the house.

Two volunteers were transported to the hospital. One with minor injuries and the other for medical observation. The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation. Reports indicate there’s in upwards of $300k in damages to the home and contents.

While this call was continuing, a crew from Squad 2 handled another call in the Prince Frederick area.
