29, 2009 - At 1256 hours, RS2 was alerted to Rescue Box 7-09
for truck off the roadway. RS2 and C2A responded to the 3200
block of Broomes Island Road. While en route,
Communications advised that they were getting reports of the
truck on fire. C2A arrived moments later finding a trash
truck into a tree on fire. RS2 arrived and began knocking
the fire down and searching for the occupant. Additional
equipment was called for bringing E21 and Tnk2 along with
other units. The occupant was found at a nearby house and
had been pulled from the vehicle by the homeowners. The
patient was flown to PG's Trauma Center for further
evaluation. Due to the construction of the truck and the
amount of trash it was carrying, units had an extended
operation cutting the side of the body and wetting down the
trash. Pictures courtesy of Dennis Hook.
